About this tool
A vanity invite is a custom code like discord.gg/nitro that a server claims as its own. Because the code is tied to exactly one guild, you can check whether it is taken simply by asking Discord whether an invite with that code exists.
This tool runs that check for you and returns a clear answer: available or taken. It is useful before you try to claim a code, before you pay someone for a code, or when you are registering a community around a name you have in mind.

How vanity URLs differ from ordinary invites
A vanity URL is a custom code on the same `discord.gg` namespace as ordinary invites, which is why checking one uses the same endpoint. The difference is that it is chosen rather than generated, it belongs to the server permanently rather than to whoever created it, and there is only ever one per server.
Vanity URLs unlock at Server Boost Level 3. Setting one requires the Manage Server permission, and the code becomes unavailable to everyone else the moment it is claimed - the namespace is global and first-come.
Because the namespace is shared with random invite codes, a vanity code can collide with an existing invite. That is one reason short and common words have long been unavailable even on servers that never claimed them.
Reading the result correctly
A successful lookup means the code is in use, and the response tells you which server holds it. A 404 means Discord has nothing registered for it, which is as close to "available" as an external check can get.
Anything else - a rate limit, a timeout, a Discord outage - means the check did not complete and says nothing about availability. Treating those as "available" produces confident wrong answers, which is worse than reporting the failure honestly. Availability is only ever provisional until you try to claim it.
How a vanity code works
By default Discord gives every server a long invite code made of random characters. A server with Level 3 boosting or an approved community can set a custom code instead, and that code becomes the short link other people use to join.
Because codes are unique across all of Discord, only one server can hold a given vanity at a time.
When you would use a vanity check
Before buying a code from someone, before paying a sniper, or before renaming your server, it helps to know the current owner. A few seconds of checking can save you from paying for something that is already gone.
What happens when a vanity is released
If a server loses its boosting tier or removes the custom code, the vanity becomes available again immediately. There is no grace period. This is why code snipers monitor popular codes around boost reset times, hoping to claim a released vanity the moment it drops.

Is the check accurate?
If Discord returns a guild for the code, it is taken. When the API answers 404 the code is likely free, but a server can also disable its invites.
Can I reserve a code with this tool?
No. The tool only reports the current status. Claiming a code still happens inside Discord.

Any code made of letters and numbers. Keep in mind that most short and common codes were claimed years ago.
